West Suburban PADS has been successful in paving the way for new and enhanced levels of service to address the multi-faceted needs of persons experiencing homelessness in west suburban Cook County. Since our inception over 4,800 men, women and families have been assisted with meals, shelter, supportive services and housing. Annually, hundreds of people come to West Suburban PADS in search of assistance; it is through our commitment to treat each participant with dignity and respect that we believe people who are homeless can reach their greatest potential.

Our Vision-

Our mission
West Suburban PADS exists to serve individuals and families who are homeless - or at-risk of homelessness, with dignity and respect, through shelter, housing and supportive services.

Programmes and Activities-

West Suburban PADS offers services in four areas:

Shelter: Emergency Shelter

Supportive Services: Support Center Project WIN

Supportive Housing: Transitional Housing Permanent Housing

Prevention: Homeless Prevention


Additional services provided at the shelter include:
• Medical Clinic - Volunteer doctors and nurses are available once a week on Monday evenings to perform blood pressure screenings, routine and non-invasive examinations.
• Legal Services In partnership with the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, a monthly Legal Clinic is available one Thursday a month to assist shelter guests with non-criminal legal matters.
• Outreach Services -The shelter also provides outreach services to veterans through working relationships with the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital and the Oak Park Vet Center.
